Hello Compass Travel readers!
This past September I was lucky enough to spend a week in Greece accompanied by three of my dearest friends. We flew Swiss Air via Zurich to Athens and then connected to an Olympic Air flight to Santorini. To rest up from a long day of travel, we spent the next day poolside, enjoying the hotel’s picture perfect view of the Aegean Sea. Each evening, we walked to the lovely town of Oia for dinner, resting along the footpath to appreciate the gorgeous sunsets. We took a wine tasting tour, sampling a dozen local wines at three wineries. It was the perfect way to get in some sightseeing of the island and mingle with the locals.
At the end of our stay in Santorini, we took the ferry back to the mainland and spent 2 nights in Athens. We imagined ourselves stepping back in time as we climbed to the top of the acropolis. Our final day was spent exploring the ruins surrounding Delphi. Our Key Tours guide, Jiouli, regaled us with ancient myths and legends. If Greece is on your bucket list, I’d love to tell you more!
